William Tucker

Senior Software Engineer · AI Software Development · Training · Workflow Automation

Senior software engineer with 12+ years of professional experience. Currently a programmer/analyst at a BC post-secondary institution since 2016, and the founder of WTS in 2026. Background includes deep Oracle, .NET, Classic ASP modernization work, and AI-accelerated delivery since 2024.

WTS offers three services: AI-accelerated software development, AI training (1:1 and group), and AI workflow automation. The common thread is hands-on senior engineering plus AI agents doing the boilerplate — which is what makes small-business pricing and turnaround possible.

What I Bring to the Table

Legacy Modernization

Classic ASP, .NET Framework, VB6, Oracle PL/SQL → modern .NET 8 Blazor. AI-augmented workflow ships in days what traditional firms quote in months.

Oracle & SQL

Oracle schema design, PL/SQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, stored procedures, ETL (Talend). Rebuilt a complex Oracle PL/SQL booking app (RoomBooking) as .NET 8 Blazor in 5 days.

Security-First Engineering

SSO/ADFS, SAML, OAuth (Google, Apple), JWT, Row Level Security, CORS architecture, role-based access, rate limiting. Built secure by default, not bolted on after.

Full-Stack Delivery

C#/.NET 8, Blazor Server, ASP.NET Core, Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind. Backend to frontend, I ship the whole stack.

DevOps & CI/CD

Git workflows across 30+ repositories, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, health-check-gated deploys, multi-environment release, rollback automation. Infrastructure that lets teams move fast safely.

AI & LLMs

Claude API (direct SDK integration in production), Claude Code with custom hooks and shared team config, and a custom MCP server authored in TypeScript that extends Claude with multi-database Oracle tools. Prompt engineering, context-document design, AI-agent-driven development. Consulting grounded in how I actually work — not repackaged thought leadership.

Reporting

QuestPDF, Crystal Reports, PL/SQL and T-SQL reporting. Replaced legacy licensed Crystal Reports with .NET-native QuestPDF to eliminate licensing costs.

Team Leadership

Mentored developers, authored team handbooks, established feature-branch and CI/CD workflows for teams of six. Code review, Agile/Scrum, knowledge transfer.

Cloud & Integrations

Vercel, Supabase (Auth, DB, Storage), cloud ERP integrations (REST/SOAP), PostGIS geospatial, SignalR real-time, SSH/SFTP file transfer.

Education & Background

Computer Science Diploma

Thompson Rivers University · 2010–2013

Computer Systems: Operations & Management, Computer Science.

Journeyman Marine Technician

British Columbia Institute of Technology · 2003–2007

Hands-on engineering fundamentals — the "build things that have to work" mindset that still shows up in how I write software.

BCNET Conference Speaker

2015

Delivered a Groovy Grails session on institutional reporting to the BC higher-education tech community.

Independent Projects

Built solo, outside client work. Each is running code I use and maintain.

dogmap.ca →

A production PWA for BC dog owners, solo-built. Next.js + Supabase (PostgreSQL + PostGIS + Auth + Storage) + MapLibre GL. Six months of disciplined iteration, 376 commits, real Vitest test coverage. The counterpoint to modernization work: building from scratch with all the security and infrastructure decisions that implies.

williamtucker.ca

This site. Static HTML + Tailwind v4 + Express.js server with a live Claude API chatbot (direct Anthropic SDK integration, not a third-party widget), deployed to Railway. 6-day build.

WTS Admin + Client Portal →

Full-stack SaaS running my consulting business. Next.js (App Router) + Supabase (PostgreSQL + Auth + RLS + Storage) + Stripe + Resend + React PDF. Nine admin pages, five client portal pages, PDF invoice generation, magic-link auth. 4-day solo build.

My Approach

No Hype

I won't tell you AI will solve everything. I'll tell you where it fits and where it doesn't.

Production-Grade

Demos are easy. I build solutions that work in the real world, at scale, with your existing systems.

Knowledge Transfer

I want your team to own the solution. I document everything and train your people.
